Congratulations on your decision to attend Auburn University and welcome to the Auburn family. The fraternity system at Auburn is second to none and presents young men with a once in a lifetime experience. The next four years will be instrumental in shaping and molding your interests, principles, and personal skills for your adult life – there is no better place to those build and strengthen those characteristics than the Kappa Alpha Order. Our chapter strives to recruit men of honor, integrity, and character to help uphold the strong ideals and beliefs in which we believe so strongly. We’re excited that you are interested in us, and we would like to extend to you an open invitation to come visit with us.
Our rush program is the stronghold of our fraternity, and we devote much time and effort into the selection of our members. Although many fraternities at Auburn participate in Fall and Spring rush, here at Kappa Alpha, we normally only partake in Fall Rush. This can most likely be attributed to the diligence and effort we put forth during our Summer rush events. We usually begin recruitment for the upcoming year in January and continue on until the end of Formal Rush in late August. Usually, during that time we have anywhere from 6-7 rush events. Each rush function is created to provide a very informal, laid back atmosphere in which brothers and rushees can enjoy getting to know one another on a more personal level. Some of our more exciting rush functions in the past have included: Cahaba River Float- Selma, AL; Atlanta Braves games- Atlanta, GA; The Famous Alpha Psi Rodeo- Auburn, AL; Old Row Lake Party- Lake Martin; Highlander Fling- Auburn, AL; Summer Yard Social- Auburn, AL. For every function the chapter will provide transportation as well as lodging, all you need to worry about is being ready to gave a good time. Although we do focus intensely on our summer rush program, we also always have a successful formal rush program. So if you are not able to make it to Auburn for any of the summer rush activities- Don't Worry!- just come see us during formal rush at the beginning of the Fall semester.
Finally, we know that the rush process as a whole can be a very intimidating, stressful and overwhelming process, But rest assured, our rush chairmen are extremely approachable and trustworthy men that are going to do everything possible to make you feel at home when you come to visit. Our number one goal is to provide you with an opportunity to find the fraternity that fits “YOU.” Nu Chapter prides itself on presenting rushees with the advantages and privileges of what being a Kappa Alpha Gentleman provides, but we by no means pressure individuals into making decisions that they are not ready to make. The purpose of rush is to find a place that makes you feel comfortable, and until you figure out where that place is- we would just like to provide you with enough information in order to make the right decision.
